Pre-School
The Pre-School area is for children between the ages of three and five, and prepares your child for school, by encouraging them to be independent in their learning through low level furniture and easily accessible toys and equipment.
It has been carefully designed for inquisitive minds, allowing your child to explore new skills and experiences.
The main basis of your child’s learning is through play; where they discover numbers, letters, colours, communication technology and the world around them.
They are given the opportunity to develop basic reading skills by looking at different types of books, and having letters and signs around them; and pre-writing skills via drawing, painting and mark making in the sand.
The day is structured so that your child has the opportunity to explore both in the room and outside in the garden, with a variety of resource areas such as small world, role play, book corner and construction.
The Pre-School children are encouraged to use their imagination in weekly drama workshops, provided by a qualified drama teacher.
Learning comes naturally to a child when it is presented
as a source of pleasure and enjoyment.
